Program Manager

GENERAL
The Program Manager oversees the coordination and administration of all aspects of an ongoing program, including planning, organizing, staffing, leading and controlling program activities.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Program Planning

  • Plans the delivery of a program and its activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the organization
  • Develops new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the program
  • Develops and implements long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the program
  • Develops an annual budget and operating plan to support the program
  • Develops a program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the program and to identify areas for improvement
  • Develops funding proposals for the program to ensure the continuous delivery of services

 
Program Organizing

  • Ensures that the program activities are compliant with the policies and procedures of the organization
  • Ensures that program activities comply with all relevant legislation and professional standards
  • Develops forms and records to document program activities
  • Oversees the collection and maintenance of records on the clients of the program for statistical purposes per the confidentiality/privacy policies of the organization

 
Program Staffing

  • Ensures that the program activities are compliant with the policies and procedures of the organization
  • Ensures that program activities comply with all relevant legislation and professional standards
  • Develops forms and records to document program activities
  • Oversees the collection and maintenance of records on the clients of the program for statistical purposes per the confidentiality/privacy policies of the organization

 
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a medical device or pharmaceutical environment

 
In addition, the following knowledge, skills, and/or abilities are required:

  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
  • Understanding of advanced mathematical concepts, i.e. probability, statistical inference, calculus and algebra
  • Logical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of CAD usage
  • Understanding of the QSR and ISO regulatory environments
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and testing environments
